1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit our website. They serve various purposes such as remembering your preferences, keeping you signed in, and providing analytics.
This policy explains what types of cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
2.1 Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function. They include:
- The authentication cookies accessToken (lasts 30 minutes) and refreshToken (lasts 45 minutes), created only when you sign in, to keep you signed in
- Apart from these and the language cookie described below, the site creates no other technical cookies
- The lingua_preferita cookie, which remembers the language you chose in the language selector (value "it" or "en"): it is created only by that choice, lasts one year, contains no other data and does not require consent
- Your consent choices are not stored in a cookie: we keep them in the browser's storage (localStorage, entry pte_cookie_consent), together with other technical entries the site needs to work, such as the language (preferred-lang), the page to return to after signing in and the random code of public questionnaires and polls (pte-questionari-id, pte-sondaggi-id), which stops the same answer being counted twice and describes neither you nor your device
2.2 Statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. This category is off until you turn it on from the banner. The Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_R1K4DVSC5Y):
- Record the pages visited and the time spent, to find errors and improve the site
- Last 13 months; Google keeps the visit data linked to these cookies for 14 months, then deletes it
- They are activated only if you accept them in the banner. Even without your consent the Google script is loaded and sends Google cookieless technical signals, which include your IP address
- Can be turned off at any time without affecting how the site works
2.3 Advertising (Google Ads conversion tag)
Advertising, off until you turn it on. We show no ads on our site, but we advertise on Google: every page carries the Google Ads conversion tag AW-17872801987, which tells us which clicks on our ads lead to a sign-up. If you turn this category on:
- Google may store its own conversion cookies _gcl_aw, _gcl_gb, _gcl_dc and _gcl_au in your browser; they last 90 days and serve to attribute the sign-up to the click on the ad
- If you arrive from one of our ads, the address contains the gclid parameter ("Google Click Identifier"), a code Google adds to recognise that single click: with your consent Google keeps it in the _gcl_aw cookie for 90 days. We do not store it in our database
- You allow Google to use data about your visits for its advertising services, that is to measure and personalise ads, including on other sites and apps
- For this use Google is an independent controller, under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and its rules on the use of data from partner sites (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites); the provider is Google Ireland Limited and the data may be processed in the United States by Google LLC
- The legal basis is your consent (art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code and art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). It is separate from statistics: you can turn statistics on and leave advertising off, and change your choice at any time
- Without your consent no advertising cookie is stored and no gclid is kept. The tag's script loads anyway, like the Google Analytics one, and sends Google cookieless technical signals that include your IP address
2.4 Form protection (Google reCAPTCHA)
Form protection, off until you turn it on. Google's reCAPTCHA v3 anti-bot check tells people apart from automated programs:
- With this category on, the check runs on the contact form, voting in public polls, booking an activity and requests to join an association; without it those forms work anyway, with the limits on the number of submissions that apply to everyone
- At sign-up the check is always on and does not depend on this choice, because it protects the security of sign-up (privacy policy, section 3.14)
- Google's script reads information about the browser and how the page is used and your IP address, and may set the technical cookie _GRECAPTCHA; Google processes this data on our behalf and we do not keep the score
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies on our site are set by third-party services:
- Google Analytics: For statistics on site use and, only if you turn on the "Advertising" category, for Google's advertising services. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework
- Google Ads: Conversion tag AW-17872801987, present on every page: it measures which clicks on our ads lead to a sign-up. It stores the conversion cookies _gcl_aw, _gcl_gb, _gcl_dc and _gcl_au (90 days) and keeps the gclid click identifier only if you turn on the "Advertising" category. Provider Google Ireland Limited; data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework
- Google reCAPTCHA: For the anti-bot check at sign-up and, with the "Form protection" category, on the other public forms. Google processes the data on our behalf, also in the United States
- Stripe: For secure payment processing
4. Managing Cookies
You can manage your cookie preferences in several ways:
- Use the 'Customize' button in our cookie banner to select preferences
- At any time, with the “Cookie settings” button in the footer, from the “Cookie preferences” section of your profile, or with the button below
- Configure your browser settings to block or delete cookies
Note: Blocking essential cookies may prevent the site from functioning properly.
