Your privacy rights
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights over your personal data. For each one, this page explains how to exercise it: many things you can do yourself from your profile, for the rest an email is enough.
On this page
This page does not send requests: it shows you where to make them. Profile features are available once you sign in to your account. If you do not have an account, for example because you only received an event invitation, write directly to the data controller.
Access to your data and portability
You have the right to know which personal data we process about you and to receive a copy in a structured format that you can reuse with another service.
How to do it
- Sign in to your account and open your profile. Open your profile
- In the «Export your data» box, press «Download Data as Excel».
- The Excel file (.xlsx) downloads right away and contains your profile, events, collaborators, expenses, relationships and subscriptions.
To find out how we use your data, or to receive data the file does not contain, write to the data controller: info@playtheevent.com
Rectification
You have the right to correct inaccurate personal data and to complete incomplete data.
How to do it
- Sign in to your account and open your profile. Open your profile
- In the «Profile Information» tab, correct your first name, last name, phone number or preferred currency and press «Save».
Your email address cannot be changed from the profile. To correct it, or to correct other data, write to the data controller: info@playtheevent.com
Erasure (right to be forgotten)
You have the right to ask for your personal data to be deleted. If you want to keep a copy, download it first as explained above.
How to do it
- Sign in to your account and open your profile. Open your profile
- In the «Danger Zone» box, press «Delete My Account» and read what will be deleted.
- Press «Send confirmation code» and enter the 5-digit code you receive by email: it expires after 15 minutes.
Deletion is permanent: you lose your account, the events you created and the related data. Only payment records (orders, receipts and invoices) are kept, because tax law requires us to store them for 10 years.
Objection
You have the right to object to processing of your data based on our legitimate interest and, at any time, to processing for marketing purposes.
How to do it
- To stop receiving notification emails, turn off the alerts you do not want in your profile's notification preferences. Open notification preferences
- To object to any other processing, write to the data controller stating which processing and why: info@playtheevent.com
Restriction of processing
You have the right to ask for your data to be kept but not used, for example while we check a request of yours for rectification or objection.
How to do it
There is no profile feature for this: write to the data controller stating which data you want to restrict and why: info@playtheevent.com
Complaint to the supervisory authority
If you believe we process your data in a way that does not comply with the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali), even without writing to us first.
How to do it
The authority's website has the form and instructions for complaints: website of the Italian Data Protection Authority (opens in a new tab)
If you live or work in another European Union country, you can also contact that country's supervisory authority.
How to write to the data controller
For every request you cannot make from your profile, write to this address:
If you can, write from the email address you registered with and state which right you want to exercise: we need this to check that the request is really yours.
The GDPR requires us to reply within one month of your request. For complex requests this can be extended by two further months: if so, we will tell you within the first month.
Which data we process, why and for how long is explained in the privacy policy. Read the privacy policy
