Beta Terms - Play the Event

Version: 1.2
Effective from: 2 October 2026; version 1.1 was effective from 1 October 2026, version 1.0 from 24 September 2026

What's new in this version

These Beta Terms are available in Italian and in English. The English version is a translation provided for convenience: in case of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Italian version prevails.

These Beta Terms form part of the Play the Event Terms and Conditions of Use (playtheevent.com/en/legal/terms-of-service) and explain Section 4.6 of the Terms and Conditions of Use in plain language. In case of conflict, Section 4.6 of the Terms and Conditions of Use prevails. Here you will find, in short, what you get during the beta, what happens when it ends and what we will never ask of you without your consent.

1. What the beta is

The beta is the period in which Play the Event is open to the public but still under development. It has been running since the day these terms took effect.

  • End: we will let you know at least 30 days in advance, by email and with a notice on the platform.
  • During the beta some features may contain errors, change or be withdrawn. The supplier marketplace and packages may not be available.
  • The platform in beta has no minimum availability guarantee: we do our best to keep it running, but it may stop. The protections the law gives you remain unaffected.

2. What is free during the beta

  • All subscription plans are free for as long as the beta lasts, and no available feature is excluded.
  • Prices remain visible on the pricing page: they are the prices that will apply after the beta.
  • We charge you nothing. If we ask you to register a card, we do not use it before you have confirmed a paid subscription (point 3).
  • No commission on sales: if you sell tickets or receive bookings through the platform, our commission during the beta is 0%. Any costs of the payment service are shown to you before you confirm.
  • Features we develop during the beta are free for as long as the beta lasts. Afterwards, they are part of the paid plans.

3. When the beta ends

After the beta there is no permanent free plan: all plans are paid and the commission on sales applies in accordance with Section 5.9 of the Terms and Conditions of Use:

WhenTicket salesSupplier marketplace bookings
during the beta0%0%
from the end of the betabetween 2% and 5%, published before the end of the beta15%

Plans after the beta. If you use Play the Event as a private individual, you will be able to choose a subscription or, once available, a single-event pass (planned: we will publish its price and content before activating it). For associations there is a single plan, at €24 per year.

The FREE_ACCOUNT_26 code. From the end of the beta it no longer applies to new accounts. If you have already used it, the benefit you obtained remains yours, on the conditions and for the duration we told you when you used it.

The free tools on the website, the ones used without a plan, remain free after the beta as well. Other services separate from the plans, such as programmatic access to the platform's public data, may be paid: we will publish their price and conditions before activating them.

What you receive when you pay. Play the Event is currently run by a natural person without a VAT number: for every payment you receive by email the receipt issued through Stripe, the payment provider, without VAT; it is not an invoice. If this changes (opening of a VAT number or exceeding €5,000 of revenue), we will tell you at least 30 days in advance. The details are in Section 3.5 of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

No automatic charge. At the end of the beta your account does not switch by itself to a paid plan. You pay only if you choose a plan and confirm it, after seeing the price, duration, renewal and how to withdraw. The following do not count as consent: not replying, continuing to use the platform, having registered a card during the beta.

If you do not activate a plan:

  • 1. your account is not deleted;
  • 2. for at least 90 days from the end of the beta you can log in, view and export your data, but not create or edit events;
  • 3. once the 90 days have passed, if you have not activated a plan, we delete the account and your data, after notifying you by email 30 days in advance, with a reminder 7 days and another 1 day before: until then you can still export your data or activate a plan. We keep only the data the law requires us to keep, as explained in the Privacy Policy (playtheevent.com/en/legal/privacy-policy);
  • 4. at any time you can activate a plan, or ask for your account to be deleted.

Exporting your data. From your profile, with the export function; until the function is available, by writing to info@playtheevent.com.

Withdrawal. If you are a consumer and activate a paid plan, you have 14 days from activation to withdraw, including by using the withdrawal form attached to the General Terms and Conditions of Sale (Annex 1). Using the platform during the beta does not reduce this right.

4. The beta tester discount

If you used Play the Event during the beta, as an individual, a business or an association, you may be entitled to a time-limited discount on your subscription, plus the badge in point 5.

The discount rules are also set out in Section 3.7 of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale.

5. The beta tester badge

Anyone who took part in the beta receives a badge on their profile. It is a recognition: it has no economic value and gives no discount. You can choose not to show it.

6. Inviting other people

You can invite other people to try the beta. Inviting someone gives you only community recognition: no cash reward, discount, credit or other benefit, either for you or for the people you invite. Only invite people you know and who agree to receive the invitation.

7. Selling tickets during the beta

Play the Event is not an approved ticketing system and does not issue tickets valid for tax purposes. For this reason you can sell paid tickets through the platform only for events that are not subject to the SIAE and tax obligations that apply to tickets for shows and entertainment in Italy.

  • Usually subject, and therefore not sold here: concerts, theatre, cinema, dance, sports competitions with a paying audience, dance nights, clubs, events with a DJ, even if you organise them only once or as an association, and shows in venues with more than 5,000 seats.
  • Usually not subject: conferences, courses, workshops, dinners, the contribution for a private party, registration for an amateur competition, as long as they do not include a show or entertainment.
  • If in doubt, treat the event as subject and do not activate sales.
  • Before selling each type of paid ticket you declare that the event is not subject to those obligations, and you are responsible for that declaration. If the event changes, you renew the declaration or stop the sale.
  • Play the Event does not handle SIAE matters: neither the tax obligations on tickets nor copyright and performers' rights. Event permits, SIAE permits and fees for music, related rights and taxes on revenue are solely your responsibility: we do not apply for permits on your behalf. The general information on our blog is guidance, not advice.
  • For events that are subject we do not sell tickets: you use an external ticketing system of your choice. If admission is paid, you must put on the event page the link to the external ticketing system on which you sell the tickets: without the link the event is not published. The link is neutral: we do not show the prices, we receive no fee, we charge no commission and we are not liable for the external ticketing system or the sales made through it. If the event has free admission but you still issue tickets, for example complimentary tickets to count seats, the link is optional: you can put the link or manage the free tickets on the platform, which are not tickets valid for tax purposes. If the event has free admission and no tickets are issued, the link is not needed.
  • We may ask you for information about the event (you have 5 working days to reply) and suspend sales, explaining why. If the event turns out to be subject, we close the sale and buyers receive a full refund, from the funds in your connected account.
  • During the beta our commission on tickets is 0%.

The details are in Section 5.10 of the Terms and Conditions of Use.

8. Your data

How we process your data during and after the beta is set out in the Privacy Policy (playtheevent.com/en/legal/privacy-policy) and, for cookies, in the Cookie Policy (playtheevent.com/en/legal/cookie-policy). This document does not repeat them.

9. If these terms change

We will notify you by email at least 30 days before any change that is unfavourable to you. Each version has a number and a date.

10. Who we are and how to contact us

Play the Event is run by Federico Calò, a natural person, Viale Italia 292, 73010 Soleto (LE), Italy, with the contact details set out in Section 14 of the Terms and Conditions of Use. For questions about these terms: info@playtheevent.com.

Version 1.2, effective from 2 October 2026. Change from version 1.1: the beta tester discount is 30% for 12 months on any plan, for anyone who created at least one event during the beta, and you get it with a promotional code (point 4). Change in version 1.1 from version 1.0: for every payment you receive the receipt issued through Stripe instead of the receipt for occasional services (point 3).
