How it works
Choose the event type, the number of attendees, the total value of the event, whether it takes place outdoors and the covers you are interested in: liability, cancellation, bad weather, data and equipment. For each cover the tool applies an indicative percentage to the event value, adjusted for event type, number of attendees and outdoor setting. The percentages do not come from an insurer's rates: they give you an order of magnitude and help you not forget a cover. The actual premium and the covers your event needs are set by an insurer's quote and by the venue's conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Is insurance mandatory for public events?
It depends on the country and the type of event. In Italy, third-party liability insurance is not always required by law for events open to the public, but most venues require it as a condition of use. Either way, it is strongly recommended.
How much does event insurance cost?
The cost depends on the event type, the number of attendees and the coverage limit. A standard liability policy for a mid-sized event is usually one of the smaller items in the budget, while cancellation cover costs more and is priced on the insured budget. Ask several insurers for quotes: prices vary by country and provider.
What does event insurance cover?
The main types of event cover are: liability towards attendees and third parties, cancellation or postponement for reasons beyond your control (up to a limit on costs already incurred), damage to property and equipment, staff injury and theft of materials.
