Event Planning Checklist Generator
Generate an event planning checklist by event type and size, with tasks grouped into four phases: research, planning, on site and after the event.
Research 0 / 5
Planning 0 / 10
On-site 0 / 6
Post-event 0 / 5
How it works
Choose the type of event and the date to generate a custom checklist of every task to complete, organized by timeline (12 months before, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, the final week, the day itself). Tick off completed items and use the progress tracker so nothing slips through the cracks.
Frequently asked questions
What must an event planning checklist include?
A complete checklist covers: setting objectives, choosing the venue, supplier contracts, the communication plan, registration management, logistics on the day, a backup plan for the unexpected and post-event follow-up.
How far in advance should you start planning an event?
For large events (500+ people) start 12-18 months ahead. For mid-sized events (100-500) allow 6-9 months. For small events, at least 3 months. Some popular venues are booked up to 2 years in advance.
How do you use an event checklist without forgetting anything?
Organize the checklist by area (logistics, communication, catering, technical) and by deadline. Assign each item an owner and use a tracking system to monitor what has been completed.
